Senior trip to lake powell

High school was finally over! The Lucas's and my family thought it'd be fun to go to Lake Powell to start off the summer all hanging out together on a houseboat in the sun! sounded good to me!

The drive down gets kind of long and I get kind of looney....

Mike and My dad stretching their legs after a long ride in the car, it felt good to get out and stand up!

Waiting for Jason to meet up with us in the bouey field.

My mom lazing around on deck

Whitney and My dad

My brother

Whitney and I

Terri and Belle, of course the dogs have to come along too, their family!

The moon was really bright, I was able to play around with shutter speeds on my camera, I wish I would've had a tripod though!

Evan came down with us too, the more the merrier!

All the kids, minus my brother haha what a fun group!

The madres!

Leanin'

Climbing on the rocks.

Our shoes didn't grip too well to the slick rock, it made climbing hard, especially coming back down.

Up by where we parked the house boat someone that had been there before us created all of these rock sculpture, picture things haha they were fun to look at!

the rocks that made up the hands of this guy were perfect! I don't know how they found them!

Scorpion! Probably one of my favorites

T-rex!

Peace baby! the inside is made up of bleach white shells

The otherside of the cove we were in

The view from the back of our house boat.

Jason washing his legs haha

What an awesome camp site!

I hiked up the ridge one afternoon trying to get service so I could text Logan, who was back in Salt Lake so he could go to his graduation, It was a bummer that Salt Lake School District ended school a week later than Granite, otherwise, he'd be in some of these pics with me.

I wonder what made the rock wear away this way.

The beautiful sunset!

The houseboat from the hill I got service on haha

Whitney was studying hard for her EMT test coming up, I'm glad I took it before we left.

Mike fished a lot, Evan thought he'd show mike how it was really done and tossed some bread in the water off the back of the boat and then scooped two fish up in the net in one swoop. Mike claimed "catching a fish", and "fishing" involved a hook, and long hours of waiting.

Still studying

The ghost looking object in the left side of this photo is actually Evan, the shutter speed was slow enough to catch him.

While fishing, Mike found a snake, it turned out to be a Rattler! haha

My brother and dad soaking up the sun.

The doggies!

Our big toy!

The Moms wanted a ride, Rick was kind enough to keep it at the speed they wanted to go at, the rest of us were egging him on to gun it, the rest of the trip would've been miserable if he had though....

Notice whats missing? the wake....yea it was that slow.

The guys

We went to see if we could get to these indian ruins, Rick and Terri said they haven't been able to get up there for quite a few years now. The water was high enough we were able to hike right up to them.

This was the biggest lizard I saw on the trip!

Paintings on the wall

One of the buildings

The view from up by the ruins, our boat is the little blue tarp on the edge of the water in the bushes.

Down the ladder into the building

Looking back up the ladder

Climbing out the chimney, his shoulders were almost too broad to climb out haha

But he made it

It was now my brother's turn to try.

Struggling to get the rest of the way out.

My brother and I

My brother's favorite painting was the one on the right....can you say well endowed, or tiny toga?

The trail up to the ruins

This is what we had to hike through from our boat up to the trail, a machete would've been very handy!

Down the canyon from the ruins

Mike goofing off

Whitney kneeboarding

My knee's were rubbed raw from tubing the day before, but it was totally worth it!

Mike took a turn at knee boarding and was a natural!

My brother playing around on the boat, he couldn't do much becaues of his back.

He did try wakeboarding though, and was really good at it. haha this picture was taken while he was shaking the water out of his hair.

Like I said....he did very well

Mike and Whit watching in awe haha jk

Evan has been wakeboarding for a while and thought he'd jump the wake and show off haha

He soon got board of just getting air and decided to try a 360, lets just say he didn't make it all the way around...

Jason haning out in the bow

Whit and Mike enjoying the ride

Me and Whit showing off our EMT jackets haha

Gangsta' fo sho!

My mom pooped out on the benches

Whitney trying to get her waterproof mascara off. That stuff is great until you don't want it on anymore...

Lake Powell was awesome! I hope we can all go back down again! as usual I got fried on the last day because I didn't think I needed sun screen, hopefully it'll fade into a nice tan haha, but most likely it'll be peeling in a few days. I couldn't imagine a better way to start off the summer!
