My Grandpa's Birthday

This past Friday my family got together to celebrate my Grandpa's 82nd birthday! it's always fun to have everyone together that can make it!.

Every year we take a big family photo at my grandpa's birthday...but it takes a while to get everyone situated....

The final project, I hope he had fun, I know I did!

I love to go sailing :) this time we went out on a wednesday and got to watch the other sailboats race in no wind, but it was totally worth it because the sunsets are always great! oh and we also got to say hi to the crew team and I saw my pa from trek out there too doing a wedding photo shoot.

And the guys wonder why I don't like airsofting with them....haha anyway. The guys were all playing airsoft when a stray bullet hit christian, yes they were wearing eye protection during the games but his goggles were fogging up and it was inbetween rounds and he thought he was safe....guess not!

Haval and I hung out and went walking through trolley square, we found these awesome eye shaped bandaids and just had to get them! haha it looks really creepy!

Cecret Lake

We had some down time and wanted to go for a hike, It was nice not to be responsible for any campers, although we did pass one of our 5th and 6th grade campers on the way up to the lake...it was kind of wierd

It was kind of late in the day and it was getting kind of cool but it was nice to get out of the heat of the valley and take a break.

It's that time of year where we're all getting ready to go back to school, but this year we start college and we're not all staying home, Jared's going to the Y, so we decided to have a last little bit of fun! haha

Jared and I got bored one day and decided that what his pool needed was a rope swing....it took us a while to set up and it didn't turn out like we thought it would but it is still a lot of fun!

You had to get up on the diving board to start, and then you had to jump backwards and put your feet up in the air so you wouldn't drag your butt in the water....that is where I always failed....

Jared then got the idea to surf across the water with a boogey board and the rope...it took him a few tries to do it and he finally succeeded and almost decapitated Haval in the process.

We were getting sick of the swing so we decided to play on the slide...

So we went to my uncle's friend's wedding reception and on their cake was this little glob of blue frosting that dyed everyone's teeth and tongue blue, my mom took the opportunity to pull some faces while showing of this new hue.

Hiking with Jared

After working at Tuttle all summer, every time I have some down time and some energy all I want to do is be outdoors and hiking. This time I drug Jared on a little hike to Cecret lake, It looks totally different in the winter!

The lake was a bit low but still really pretty!

This is probably the longest I've seen Jared's hair ever and it didn't last long because he's going to BYU and they have an honors code and tell you how your hair should be hahaha

We couldn't have asked for a better day!

We had to go pick up some horse feed at IFA and I couldn't resist taking a picture of this cool old mill that they still use.

We've gone sailing a lot towards the end of the summer but none of the times were near as eventful as this night was, first we ran aground on a sand bar and then I got bit by a black widow and had a nasty rest of the night.
